Educator Support Program

Introducing the Educator Support Program (ESP)

ESP: Supporting Those Who Shape the Future

At Sunny Coast Counselling, we know that teaching is more than just a job, it’s a calling. But with increasing workloads, emotional demands, and ever-changing educational expectations, many teachers find themselves struggling to balance their own well-being with their professional responsibilities.

That’s why we’re excited to launch our Educator Support Program (ESP), a dedicated, on-site counselling and support service designed to help teachers and school staff thrive both personally and professionally.

Why ESP? Because Teachers Deserve Support Too

Teachers give their all to their students, but who supports them? Our ESP is designed specifically for educators, providing practical, confidential, and ongoing support that makes a real difference.

Here’s what sets ESP apart:

  • Tailored for Teachers – Our program is built around the unique challenges that educators face, ensuring relevant and meaningful support.
  • Experienced & Trusted – Led by John Belchamber, a master’s qualified ACA Level 3 counsellor, ESP has already helped thousands of teachers and school staff across QLD and NSW.
  • Confidential & Safe – Trust is at the heart of what we do. All conversations and sessions remain private, providing a safe space for teachers to express their concerns freely.
  • More Than Just a Crisis Response – Unlike traditional Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) that are often reactive, ESP offers regular on-site support, fostering familiarity and normalising mental health care in schools.
  • Flexible & Affordable – Starting at just $1,200 plus GST per on-site day, ESP is an accessible way for schools to supplement their existing EAP with consistent, in-person support.

What ESP Offers

ESP provides a range of services designed to reduce stress, enhance well-being, and improve job satisfaction for educators, including:

  • Scheduled On-Site Support – Regular school visits to ensure teachers and staff feel comfortable seeking help before burnout or crisis strikes.
  • Individual & Group Counselling – Confidential one-on-one or small group sessions to address both personal and professional challenges.
  • Wellbeing Workshops – Practical strategies for stress management, work-life balance, and resilience-building.

The Impact of ESP on Schools

By prioritising educator well-being, schools can expect to see:

  • Improved Mental Health & Well-being – Teachers who feel supported are more engaged and motivated.
  • Increased Productivity – A healthier work environment leads to better focus and efficiency.
  • Reduced Absenteeism – Addressing issues early helps reduce stress-related leave and burnout.
  • Higher Job Satisfaction – A supportive workplace creates happier, more fulfilled teachers who stay in the profession longer.
