John Belchamber, Counsellor

Hello, I’m John Belchamber a counsellor based on the Sunshine Coast offering in-person and online counselling and training services.

I am a skilled professional counsellor with over 25 years of people development experience in training, coaching, consulting and psychometric profiling. I support adolescents, adults and couples in achieving their desired outcomes. I am registered with the Australian Counselling Association and supports clients with a vast array of concerns with particular interests in grief and loss, crisis support and men’s counselling.

Developing a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients is the key to successful counselling. I help clients work through life’s challenges in a nurturing, non-judgemental, safe space so that they can live the life that they choose. I believe that every client can achieve the outcomes they desire and that my role is to sit with them, understand where they are today and help them decide where they would like to be. Once his clients are clear on this, I help them to use the strengths and resources they already have and develop new skills that they may need, in order to achieve their life goals.

In my practice, I use my extensive professional and life experience, as well as counselling qualifications and training. I use a pluralistic approach drawing from modalities including Person-Centred Counselling, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Solutions Focused Therapy to ensure that the counselling process suits the style of each client and, the goals they have for counselling. If you are finding life is less than you would like it to be, take the first step in realising your potential and book your appointment with me today. I’m here to hear you!

Free Introduction Meeting – to ensure you’re happy with the services I can offer you, book a free introductory session to answer your questions about counselling and see if I’m the right fit for you. If I’m not, I’ll try and refer you to someone who is.
