If you are reading this, you are likely carrying something heavy. Maybe you have lost someone you love. Maybe a relationship has ended, or your health has changed, or your life looks nothing like you thought it would.
This guide has been written with warmth and honesty. It will not offer you empty reassurances or tell you that everything happens for a reason. Instead, it aims to help you understand what you are going through, offer some tools that may bring a little relief, and remind you that support is available when you are ready.
Woven throughout this guide are ideas from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) — a well-researched approach to emotional wellbeing that focuses not on eliminating pain, but on helping you live a full and meaningful life alongside it. ACT does not ask you to ‘get over’ your grief. It asks something far more honest: can you make room for it, while still moving forward?
You do not need to read this guide all at once. Take it at your own pace, return to sections that feel helpful, and skip anything that does not feel right for you today.
