Living With Depression: If you are reading this, something has brought you here. Maybe it is the weight that will not lift. The flatness. The sense that the colour has drained out of everything, and you cannot remember quite when that happened or how to get it back.

Or perhaps you are reading this because someone you love is struggling, and you do not know how to help, or even quite what it is you are witnessing.

Wherever you are coming from, this guide is written for you — with honesty, care, and respect for the complexity of what depression actually is.

Depression is not a character flaw. It is not weakness, laziness, or self-indulgence. It is a recognised medical condition with biological, psychological, and social dimensions — and it is highly treatable.

The Living With Depression guide will help you understand what depression is, recognise its different forms, and learn about approaches that genuinely help. It also addresses the topic of suicidal thoughts with the seriousness and compassion it deserves.

One thing above all else we want you to take from this guide: you do not have to face this alone. Help is available, and reaching out for it is one of the most courageous things a person can do.
